Haunting Suspiria trailer introduces Tilda Swinton’s peculiar head witch. A new trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s (Call Me By Your Name) upcoming remake of Dario Argento’s classic horror film, Suspiria, puts an eerie spotlight on a prestigious dancing school run by a coven of witches.
The trailer follows Susie Bannion, played by Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), who travels to a foreign dancing school in hopes of landing work in a touring company. Bannion meets a cast of strange individuals while attending, including the illustrious and peculiar head instructor, Madame Blanc, played by Tilda Swinton (Doctor Strange).
Blanc isn’t just the head instructor, though. She also leads the gaggle of witches who take residence at the academy — and will soon create a bewitching series of problems for Bannion.
The original Suspiria was released in 1977, and is regarded as one of the best horror movies of all time. The film was directed by Dario Argento, a master of horror. Suspiria was followed up with a series of projects, including a film by Argento’s daughter, filmmaker Asia Argento.
Suspiria will be released on Nov. 2.
